Ibn Al-Salah in his book, 'Ulum al-Hadith", attempts to thank God and supplicate to him in the introduction of his book. He does so, by comitting blatant idol-worship:
"I ask the Great God, in whose hands lie harm and benefit, giving and withholding, I implore Him, seeking refuge in Him through every means, interceding with every intercessor, to make it abundant in that."
